When Iran School Bombing: The Search For Truth first aired on Sky News and Sky Documentaries, it brought a devastating story to audiences around the world. Through meticulous investigative journalism, forensic analysis and powerful first-hand testimony, the documentary examined the bombing of a school in Minab on the opening day of the Iran war, an attack that claimed the lives of 156 people, including 120 children. The investigation found evidence that led independent experts to conclude the strike was likely the result of a catastrophic US intelligence failure.

But the impact of the documentary did not end at transmission.

Since broadcast, Sky News Correspondent Mark Stone has continued to press the White House on the findings, challenging officials to respond to evidence presented in the investigation. Despite confirmation that the administration has been provided with the documentary and its findings, questions surrounding responsibility and accountability remain unanswered. As the story continues to develop, it has become a powerful example of journalism's role in scrutinising those in positions of power and ensuring difficult questions are not allowed to disappear from the news agenda.

For the team at Sky Post Production, it was a privilege to help bring such an important investigation to screen. Working alongside Sky News and Full Story Films, our finishing and audio teams supported a fast-moving production that demanded both technical excellence and absolute attention to detail. With just days separating the final stages of post production from transmission, the project demonstrated how collaborative workflows, specialist expertise and a shared commitment to the story can help deliver journalism that informs, challenges and, ultimately, holds power to account.
