Jessica's Parkrun Heroes

SPS were approached by Sky Sports to provide full post on a 10 x 5 mins branded content series presented by Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill. The brief was to capture the powerful, personal stories of parkrunners around the UK. The external director wanted a different look and feel for each film to reflect its unique, and often emotive, story.

Following an early meeting with production, a workflow was established by our team. Filming specifications and naming conventions were advised factoring the Avid project and media files of an offsite external editor. This paved the way for a smooth edit and successful delivery. The challenge to give each story an individual look, whilst maintaining a consistent style across the series, was met. Each film embraced the environment of the story setting, with a vibrant colour palette reinforcing the optimistic, welcoming message of the campaign. The final films were nearly twice the duration initially envisaged to give the emotional space the stories needed. Edited in Avid, given a Baselight grade and audio mix, the series was delivered in HD and stereo for Sky Sports, On Demand and Digital.
